ripping dvds

I have windows media player and I want to rip a DVD for a friend, how do you do that and can I do that. Thanks

Ripping a DVD is a copyright infringement. Don’t do it.

Never burned a DVD, have only done CD’s but would assume it would be the same. If you’ve burned a cd then here’s how.( It’s really pretty easy if I could figure it out, I am not a technical kind of person) Open the media player and put in the DVD. Go up to where it says rip and wait for it to finish. The CD compartment door will open–replace the DVD with a blank CD and go up to the top again and click on burn. Oh yeah, when burning a CD before the music is ripped it asks you to pick the songs that will be ripped. Sorry, don’t know what you need to do to rip the DVD but basically it tells you what to do and you just really follow the instructions. When you r done, would you let me know how it goes and how its done. I have considered burning some DVD’s myself!! Hope this helps! [=
