So I've had this debit card for awhile but I haven't used it and they said I could activate it by checking my balance at an atm machine. I got the card two months ago(I usually carry cash so I haven't needed it), anyway I don't remember what I made it. So if I can go to my bank and prove it's my card will they give me a new pin or tell me my old one?
I believe that there is a 1-800 number you can call, for just about any bank. If you call it, you have to answer some identity questions, and then it will tell you your account's balance and pin (I believe) upon request. If it hasn't been activated yet at all, things could get funky. What bank is it?
chase and yea when I got the card the guy who set it up for me said I could get it activated by calling the 1-800 OR making a purchase/checking the balance. So when I saw the 1-800 number I sorta put it to the side figuring I would use it soon enough.
You may be able to ask the bank for the 1-800 number again. Just be prepared - some banks charge inactivity fees depending on how long it has existed.
call the customer service number for your bank, they will ask you questions only you can answer. then you should be able to reset it if you want to.
