rats im thinking of getting rats

Rats are awesome. I had 4 of them all at once in a huge huge cage. You basically just feed them the stuff at the pet store, and if you get them at a legal pet store (not one of those places on the side street that sell those snakes and stuff that are from out of country) but a place like pets mart and petco and stuff like that, they will actually print you off a booklet or a few pages on how to care for it. Rats are neat because you can actually teach them to be leash trained lmao. I got my one rat to basically stay on my bed next to me and not run off, but the other ones never learned. They live pretty long for rodents (I have a hamster right now who only lives for 3 years or so =( ) and theyre really good at not biting. I’d say get a female, I heard the males can get somewhat agressive if you have too many in the cage. My femme rats never faught, and they were really calm and never bit my hands when I held them. As far as pooping goes, I never got pooped on either, but they did like to poop when I set them down, but they always held it and never pooped on me once lol. Get girl rats, from my experience and what the pet lady told me, they’re a lot easier and gentle, but mind you, some of them can get reallyyy big, if thats okay with you =)

I’ve had loads of rats. I’ve always had two males. The plus points are that they are very friendly although they do need a lot of room in their cage etc. I feed mine at rat food mix from the local pet shop. Also they like fruit and veg too, although male rats can’t have oranges :) hope I helped

Rats make GREAT pets! I have 2 of them, Co-Co and Mint, and in my opinion, they’re very lovable, and playful. Although when you first get them, they bite and avoid you. But once you’ve had them for a while, they’ll play with you, and they’ll recognize you. :)
