I am a young teenager who loves animals with a passion (i want to be a veterinarian) & i also want to have my first job. So, i came up with a brilliant idea to mix those two things together by starting my own dog walking business. I know the basics already like appropriate pricing, walking essentials, etc. But i would also like to know what questions i should ask the owner of the dog before taking on the responsibility of walking and taking care of that dog? What questions should i ask to get to know the owner & to get to know the dog's personality?
Is the dog social with other dogs, animals, people or children? Has the dog displayed any aggresive behaviors or reacts to some people place or thing and what is it? Some dogs are fine but may go bizerk to a particular sound, or article of clothing, etc. Is the dog on medications or suffers from any medical condition (seizures, allergies, etc? Are the dogs shots up to date and are they micro chipped/tatooed, have they been fixed? Obtain emergency info for their vets. Some dogs love water while others are terrifyed of it, Checking with a veternary clinic may give you some key questions to ask as well.
Oh and if your walking multiple dogs....as gross as this is, it's a fact...ask if their dog has a tendency to eat other dogs p/poop ? Some dogs do.
