Puppy bites

My puppy is biterer. And it hurts! Hes only 6 weeks so hes still young enuff to train. But how do I train him not to bite without having to pay a petsmart trainer. Because my parents wont pay for it.

I agree with topazeyes…Yelping and offering something else to chew on besides you, are the only real passive ways of training when a pup is this young…In an ideal situation, he’d still be with his litter for another 2 weeks…where bite inhibition first begins…

either tell him no when he bites you or push him away or if you really think it’s that bad “spank him”.

I have a tip, when puppies are with their litter, their siblings make whining noises to tell the ‘biter’ that it hurts or is wrong, which will make them stop. Try recreating this little whine every time your puppy bites, as he is old enough to learn that he shouldnt be doing that. Make sure you have toys available also if he is teething, as this may be the case. There is another trick of turning away everytime your puppy bites, he’ll learn that biting is not gaining a poitive response, and should stop. Let me know if I’ve helped, I have more puppy training advice if needed. x

the pet is too young!!! and I believe that the reason why he keeps on biting is because, his teeth are starting to grow, and because the teeth forces to get out from the gums, he tend to feel abit of itchy-painful sensation, that to have the pain be quick is to keep on bitin using the part that aches (just imagine you dealing with the pain comin from your wisdom tooth)… it’s somewhat the same…
