There is very little difference between a BA and a BS, unless you're looking at health psychology or neuropsychology, where math and science are necessary parts of what you're going to be doing research in or working with. Again, the BS degree is geared more towards anything related to the science fields, so if you were headed towards research it would be helpful (but not necessary for all research).
