If an adult and a minor get into a fight, and the minor's parents don't want to press charges, can the minor?
If the incident has been reported to the police charges will be pressed, that is charges such as assault. This is because (assuming this was a fist fight) that assault is viewed as a crime against society, not the individual. If the minor wishes to press charges for something like emotional distress, I believe they can.
