poket money problems

this reallie gets me down because my best friend gets £25 pounds off poket money every week I only get 4 pounds sometimes not even that!.. how will I ever get any money to go and spend down the shops. I reallie like buying new chlothes but most off the dresses I like are 20 pounds :( ..my mum and dad say I have got enough chlothes already! but its no fair they dont understand that it is getting me down that my best friend gets lot off poket money and I dont :( what should I do? xxx

ok assuming the age on your profile is correct you’re 14 years old..yes? you have tried to speak with your parents and they have said no. you can try the mature route and see if they will let you have a paper round to earn some more money. or you can ask friends and family if you could do odd jobs like go down the shops for your grandmother or cut the lawn for your uncle bill and earn extra pocket money charge something like £2.50 per job if its small like buying some groceries for your grandmother like milk, bread and cheese to £5.00 for bigger jobs like cutting the grass .. (relatives always like cheep labour)

please bare in mind that your parents arnt trying to be mean to you, things are tight for the whole country with this credit crunch and money is a rare thing these days ..every penny counts.. try to be understanding that your parents are trying the best they can for you in difficult times and they just dont have the extra cash to give you right now, but if you show willing and a mature attitude to money then you should be able to buy a dress in no time..

when its up to you to earn the money for nice things then you really start to understand and appreciate the value of money..

I know its not fair is it im 16 left school and I only get 3 quid pocket money and my brother who is 13 also gets 3 quid pocket iney

look, im nearlly 16 I have NEVER had ANY pocket money yeh my parents buy me clothes but none of which that I could say is aspecially very nice or too expensive, I have to work to earn my way and even then 17 quid once every 3 weeks.. its not allot. I attend a pretty ok school and there are some well off kids in there that constantly get money and designer goodies.. trust me there are worse off people out there just focus on you and not other people try doing extra chores to make that extra money or I don’t know help out? .. obviously your friends parents have more money than sense
