What are the rights of a child who gets child support to the money?

I just moved out and I still have child support from when I was living with my mom. She will not give me any of it because I moved out. They have been using for them selves and have been buying me things that I don’t need without asking me if I need it or not. I need the money for medicine and other thing that I need and my momther and step-father refuse to give me the money that I have left. Could I take them court for the money? What can I do in order to get the money that is rightfully mine???

im not quite sure; but I think that child support stops once the ‘child’ has moved out. if you were living at home, then child support has to be used for things like medicine food and clothes for the child. not stuff like cellphones ipods new furniture makeup etc.

I think you need to let the authorities or whatever know that you are not living at home anymore, and if you need the money, apply for a benefit.
