poetry I love it but it feels hopeless

I love to write poetry. I would write all the time if I could. But it never turns out good, people seem to be offly critical about it and see it as just naive writting and its getting me discouraged I love it with all my heart but I cant seem to write well :(

Poetry is a very personal thing. If what you are writing makes you happy then that is all that matters. One poem can be interpreted in different ways by different people, but what it means to you is what is important. You don’t have to show your poetry to people. Unless you are wanting to get published then there is no real need to worry what ‘others’ think. I have written heaps of poems, and a lot of them will never be seen by anyone other than myself. I am happy with them I don’t need people to ‘judge.’ If you really are concerned and want to improve im sure there would be creative writing classes available to you. Or even if you look up on the internet something like ‘how to write poetry’ there may be some tips for you. Or even in books which can give you ideas. Practise makes perfect :)

Answer #2

if you like writing poetry then write it. I love writing it too I’ve gotten things published before. but before they got published I asked for a little help from teachers or friends or adults. they help me find alternitives for some words and it made my orrigional work even better. sometimes you might not like to admit that you need help but it could make things better. so if you want to continue to write then maybe you need to ask for help sometimes because even if you dont want to admit it, the professionals even need help sometime!

Answer #3

Just because someone else might not quite understand, or feel what it is your writing, doesn’t mean it’s not good.

If your poetry speaks to you, then it’s done it’s job. Poetry is an extension of your soul, and the only person who will ever understand your soul is you.
