1-800-784-2433 is a toll free number someone can call if they’re feeling suicidal and need to talk. If they need help and would like to talk person-to-person, I think the best thing any person can do is speak to a doctor and let them know how you’re feeling. If you’re in any immediate danger, you should go to your local hospital in the emergency section and let them know.

As for a second home, going to a psych ward would be a good place to start. It’s not really a home, but it’s a safe place where they do offer help to those who really need it. There’s no shame in going there, if you feel suicidal and want help.

You can go to a hospital and they can help you there, you can go into a theraphy place or something, I think they would also get you help there. Hospitals als have places for people to stay while they get help and know how to deal with stuff, I want to say rehab, but I’m not sure about that.

Yeah, there are clinics. A person can check themselves in, and just hang out there for a while. They get a room, usually with a roommate, even though it’s just temporary, and usually there’s some sort of required schedule as well as plenty of free time, with scheduled events in case they still want to do something, but they don’t have to. Depending on what they’re in for, they’ll most likely get sessions with a therapist or psychologist/psychiatrist, and group sessions.

Answer #6

There’s different levels of interventions. There’s individual therapy for people who need help but can reside at home and are not in immediate risk. The hospitals will keep you temporarily for stabilization purposes. How good the psych ward is will depend on the hospital. The one over here for kids is absolutely fantastic. They’ve got groups and individual therapy, lots of different activities through the day, and the doctors are great. Then there’s residential facilities that deal with issues like depression, etc (these are like eating disorder clinics, but they are extremely expensive) and they are more long term. Now, you can go to the hospital and tell them you are suicidal. They’ll check you in and call your parents. Or you can tell your parents and they can get you other help. Regardless, your parents are going to find out, or must be told before you can get help. So talk to them…
