Does it make the pill less effective if you suffer with bulimia?

Answer #1

Uh, yeah. I learnt that the hard way.

If you’re throwing stuff up, the active chemical in the pill will come up too. That goes with any medication.

I’m guessing you don’t want help yet (if you do, great, it’s worth it) so I’d suggest not having your tablet with a meal, so you don’t need to purge.

Answer #2

How long does it take for the chemical to be completely absorbed into your body then?

Answer #3

It stays there over the whole day, I’m pretty sure. That’s why you have to take it at the same time each day. If you want to be completely safe, you have to digest everything for the entire day. Most of it should be absorbed when your stomach digests food. Being bulimic, it probably takes you longer to digest food than most people but I’m sure you know how many hours you have in which you can purge. Maybe you should look into another form of contraception that will be more reliable for you. But if that’s not an option, just let it digest for as long as you can. Take it before bed maybe (after you purge), you aren’t going to be tempted to eat and purge while you sleep so it gives the body a change to digest.
