ok, maybe you could bring in the differences between us and other species and our dependency on the earth in relation to theirs. Also you could bring in the affect that technology has in defining human behaviour. I.e how it has affected our behavious over the past 2 decades or so.

One interesting tangent you could go off on is one of utilizing the first person perspective.

Write the article from your point of view. Your experience with humanity, however personal, should do great at least as the general thesis of the work in question.

Some opinions to look up: Sigmund Freud, he discovered the first real causes and affects that lead to everything from selfishness to mental instability. Friedrich Nietzsche was a great philosopher who taught of the nature of tragedy and its role within the structure and sheer foundation contained inherently in all of humanity.

I’d just say to take a fresh approach to this so those four pages seem more like a limit and not tedium.
