What do I do about this period problem?

You see, I have to swim soon and I KNOW the only way to be sure I won’t bleed into the pool is to wear a tampon, and I’m not scared. I want to wear a tampon so I don’t face the extreme embarrassment. The only thing is, I don’t have my period yet–14, no period. Mom won’t write me a note getting out of gym, and It’s going to go on for about 3 weeks. What if I get it in the pool? I have no tampons in the house. Are there signs right before getting period? Please help!

yes there r ways u can tell when ur gonna start….u can feel dizzy r like u wanna throw up, cramps, r ur stomach starts growling…but most of the time before a girl starts she gets this discharge thats white r clear and it will let u know ur starting soon.

Some of my symtoms I get are my nipples will hurt a few days before my period. Of course cramps too, sometimes I’ll get back aches. & 90% of the time your period will stop (not actually stop, but blood won’t flow out) if your in water from the counterpressure of the water. If you ever notice if your taking a bath you will notice. Then again just to be sure I would wear one.

Answer #3

your nipples may become sensitive or tender, you may have cramps, and you may have a little discharge. I doubt you will get it right then at the swimming tournament tho.

Answer #4

I get massive cramps although, I didn’t have any signs when I got them the first time, I guess I’m just weird? Most girls get signs when they’re about to have their period for the first time. I’d keep a tampon on me when I go somewhere just incase if I were you.

Thanks for your answer! *I’ve been having discharge (‘normal, considering it has no odor, and there is no irritation) for about 2 years now. Is there a difference, or just a greater amount?

Answer #7

The fact is I don’t have tampons; my mom doesn’t have any in the house. I suppose I could wear a small pad; the water pressure stops the blood flow, i’ve heard, so when I actually got out of the water it would soak it up..but..a pad in water. Not good.

Answer #8

well, it changes throughout the month when you’ve gotten your period already. I had absolutely no signs when I got my first period. I was 13. I woke up and saw a little blood on my underwear in the morning. I had no cramps or sensitivity or anything :) but don’t worry, the first period you get will be super light. I went to the beach that day and went swimming without a tampon and I was fine.

Why can’t she buy you some for when you actually get it? If they’re what you want to wear just ask her to get you some for when the time comes.
