Why do people smoke or drink when they know it's bad for their health?

Oh and my grandma recently quit smoking! :)

Smoking usually to be cool or Just to try it and then they become addicted to it and alcohol usually becomes addictive when UR streesed and u drink alcohol idk why they can’t do something else though I mean it’s ok to have alcohol when UR a adult ever once in a while but not all the time

Wen i was 9 ice creams trucks sold fake candy cigerettes and i’d buy some everyday, 1 day i found a cigerette and smoked it, at the age of 14 i smoked them to calm down at 16 weed, & now i cant go a day without ciggs, im addicted -.- congrats to her! :)

Why do people eat candy when they know it’s unhealthy?

I don’t know about smoking but drinking is fun, it tastes good and it feels good. Like candy.

Anyway, we all die some day so who cares how?

They think it’s cool. Also, in the 1950’s and 60’s the awareness of tobacco’s dangerous was not much. Most countries allowed tobacco advertisement without any limits until at least the mid 1970’s, so people were brainwashed with the smoking lifestyle.

Thankfully, those days are gone.
