Well most of the smokers I know admit that its a nasty habit and seem to try to control their urge to smoke. Drinking alcohol lowers your ability to control your urges, so they just smoke when they get the urge to.
Also if drinking with friends, then smoking becomes a social thing. My g/f can get as low as 3 smokes in a day. But when around family/friends that smoke she can go through 1/2 a pack in 3hrs.
They go so well together..but two wrongs dont make a right lol...Ya see smoking dry`s the throat and drinking stops the drying...Add drunken conversation and the throat gets more dry, so you drink more, the drinking and movement of your mouth muscles when talking drunk talk clears and cleans the airways a bit..this means more room for tobacco toxic tar and stuff...I reckon.
I suppose it's a casual thing. When I went to parties, they like to drink and then smoke. It's just to have a reason to be outside. Other than that I can't think of a reason why. Probably to satisfy their unhealthy cravings all together in one sitting. Like a large person would do at a meal. They go for extra helping, and then to sweets.
smoking is more casuall yes.And its probrably cheeper than drink. And in a few places you cant drink in public as for smoking your only not allowed to smoke in puplic places or in 4 walls in public
