Why do people take price tags off gifts?

Answer #1

Because if the gift didn’t cost that much they might be abit ashamed to give it to a loved one. However, some people can’t afford to buy expensive gifts and that’s why i believe that the thought should be valued more than the present.

Answer #2

So that the recipient doesn’t know how much you paid for it…?

Answer #3

Just so if it cost too much the pearson does not feel they did not waste enough on you, or if it cost too little they dont get ofended, its the tought that counts not how much you spend on it.

Answer #4

I think it is more of a etiquette thing that one follows when handling gifts out. Anyone can do a research and find out the cost of the gifts via the internet or catologues but removing the price tag looks a lot more appealing and less tacky for both the recipents and the givers. :-)

Answer #5

because it just having good manners. you shouldnt care how much it cost just be happy you got a prsent like if th person paid too much then that persons being humble about it but if theh person paid too much then they just dont want you to know Lol. but i mean nowadays if you go shopping alot of stores could give you a gift receipt so that you could chage the color of an item like if it was a shirt or change the size without you knowing the cost…but i think that thats dumb because i mean to do that you would have to go to the store so straight uo being in the store you would find out the cost right?? Lol whoaa i wrote a paragraph ahhahaha

Answer #6

Because if you spend $20 on a gift thn the recipient may think it is too much. But if you spend $10 the recipient may think its too cheap.

Answer #7

People take price tags off gifts so that the person doesn’t know what the price is and only concentrates on the gift itself.
