It does not help a sunburn heal faster and peeling a sunburn can leave you with scars and even an infection. All you can do is keep the area covered up and apply non scented lotion to the area until it heels.
The aloe vera won't make you peel more skin, if you haven't started peeling YET then it prevents it, because your skin is already peeling, aloe vera should help for the itch and soothe your skin.
I would use an after-sun lotion with anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe vera is also soothing - either squeezed straight from the plant, or an aloe vera lotion from the refridgerator
or you can just use lotion. sun burns dry out the skin and thats why your skin feels tight when you move. once you put some lotion on it moisturizes and feels better.
I notice when i start peeling to take a shower it cleans off the old skin cells alot faster.Then cocoa butter soothes and doesnt make it as tender
I do that all the time. For me it just helps my sunburn heal faster, but if it hurts you could put aloe vera on it.
I put aloe vera on it and it burned, then after when i washed my face the aloe vera made me peel even more skin
