Birds don’t go into labour, however you will find that before a bird is about to lay and egg that they already have a nest. Ours used to lay eggs constantly with basically those symptoms.

However you should also note that some eggs can get stuck in the bird (that happened to ours three times) and then you’ll need emergency vetinary care.

thank you. my mom put a towel and some of my dogs hair in the cage and the birds made a cavelike thing with the towel. how long will it take for her to have it? shes been like this sincce yesterday

I’m not too sure, ours usually took a week or two after that to lay the egg and then other times she laid it a few days afterwords.

our cockateil gets squatted in one area of her cage, and doesnt want anyone in her cage or near her for that mater. Does a lot of rcking back and forth and lays her eggs. Momma birds are very protective.
