It all depends on what the cause of the pain is, if it is inflammation then you need an anti-inflammatory pain killer like ibueprofine, if the pain is caused by strain or injury then tylonal or asprin would be more appropriate. Ask your local pharmacist to assist you in picking our the right pain reliever for you. Do not rule out the use of topical creams massaged into the affected areas. However do not use asprin in conjunction with some of these creams as some contain asa as well. Again consult with your local pharmacist for guidance and if it is chronic pain see your Doctor.
Try ibuprofen, alternatively try a painkiller like robaxin or norflex or spasmend. You should be able to find those in the UK.
A natural supplement like magnesium will also help relieve muscle pain as well as potassium (which are contained in bananas)
It kinda depends on what the pain is from. Aleve works really well, and is an anti-inflamatory too, which can help the swelling of the muscles. If it is really bad see a doctor for some mild muscle relaxer. (:

I know my mom bought hers at wal-mart so if you have a wal-mart in the UK then you should be able to, other than that I do not know sorry.
I would take something like Extra Strength Tylenol.. Excedrine works really well, too.. Or Motrin. :)
We do not have a Wal-mart here where I live. I'll have a look in the pharmacies/ASDA/Tesco :)

My mother says that the robax platnuim work really good.
