Oregon state uni

Am I gonna be able to get a highly paid job after finishing that uni?

Answer #1

It depends on what you are studying, more that where you are studying. Also very few people walk straight into a high paying job, you have to work for it. Things that does pay well from the beginning is chartered accountant, Actuary(if you can find a job) and maybe in rare situations if you are a doctor- they only get paid really well after specializing.

Answer #2

Hard to say. There are homeless Ivy League PhDs.

There are no guarantys in life.

There are lots of “paper tigers” out there with prestigious degrees but no real talent for anything other than figuring out how to pass their classes. There are also people who struggled to make it through state universities who through hard work and dedication are very successful. In the long run what you learn is far more important than what diploma you have.

Answer #3

If you prepare and do what it takes, yes.

Answer #4

The only schools that make a real “difference” on your resume are Ivy league schools, eg, Stanford, Harvard, etc. State schools don’t get you prioritized in hiring, nor do they give you first crack at promotions, etc.

Companies with a higher % of ivy legue grads are more likely to advertise that fact, recruit there more often, have a higher endowment, etc, etc…so, while a state school degree is good, it’s not “special”.

(I went to you of O, my brother went to Oregon State).
