Can a deaf person hear themselves talk in their head?

Halo! So, I’m reading “the heart is a lonely hunter” and mister singer is deaf.

I’ve always wondered, can a deaf person hear themselves talk in their head? Like, what if the person wasnt always deaf, then can they? But what if they were, they dont know what speech sounds like, so do they just think in pictures?

Helpp.

I’ve never heard of that book. but I have often thought about how deaf people think, if it’s in words or… I dunno different. hahah I didn’t give you an answer, oops lol.

Answer #2

they normally do not hear their own thoughts unless they say it or talk to their selves consciously , thoughts are electrical impulses and even deaf people have it , hearing had a special center in the brain other than that of thinking . I hope you will find this helpful

Answer #3

I don’t think they can because what would they be tellinq them selfs. Same with a blind person, they would rely on there remaininq 4 sinces(smell, touch, hearinq, taste). When they dream a snowball may be a round, red, piece off ice.
