I took eng 101 and i studied the grammar and the puntuaction but when i read the newspaper they dont follow these rules. For example i read in the neswpaper this : the blah blah. and after the period the other sentence started like this And , and what i studied is that and is a connector and the comma is always before not after this connector so im confused i mean is there a logical explanation for this or the newspapers write however they want. Tellme please thank you.
Newspapers rarely follow the rules of grammar, especially with their headlines... I guess there is a certain writing style or way of reporting the news that needs to be interesting enough for people to read. Just like commercials, any marketing copy you read - it's full of grammatical errors, oxymorons, redundancies like "FREE BONUS GIFT."
I guess they don't follow rules because they don't have to and because they need to get peoples' attention.
LOL, because sometimes English isn't their first language :)
Fito, it should say "why don't the newspapers follow......."
Why the funadvice persons dont follow Puntuaction and grammar rules?
this is America and we can screw up anything
I know, sorry lol, I was just kidding =D
