IAM NOT TRYING TO BE A BOSS THAIRS JUST THINGS THAT I LIKE DOING IN MY HOME AND ONE OF THEM IS TO KEEP MY HOUSE CLEAN..I WORK HARD TO PERVIDE A HOME FOR THEM TO RUN DOWN…

MY WIFE DONT STAND BEHIND ME AT ALL SHE DONT WANT TO GET THEM MAD AT HER SO SHE JUST STAYS OUT OF IT AND LET THEM DO WHAT THAY WANT…ONE DAY I TOLD THE ONE OF HER KIDS THAT IF SHES NOT GOING TO SCHOOL THEM SHE WASNT GOING TO LAY AROUND MY HOUSE AND DO NOTHING…SO SHE SAID FINE I WILL LEAVE AND OUT THE DOOR SHE WHENT.WALKING DOWN THE ROAD. SHE CALLED HER GRANDMA AND HER GRANDPA. THAY CALLED ME AND GIVE ME SH.IT. AND I TOLD THEM I DID NOT KICK HER OUT I JUST TOLD HER SHE WAS GOING TO DO SOME WORK AROUND THE HOUSE.

I tried TAKEING THAIR PHONE AWAY,tried GROUNDING THEM. tried TO TELL THEM THAY CANT GO TO THIR FRENDS, tried MAKEING A LIST OF THING TO DO AROUNT THE HOUSE, IT JUST DONT WORK,,THATS WHY I GIVE UP. THEN WHEN ITS TIME TO GET UP TO GO TO SCHOOL THAY JUST SAY TO ME GET OUT OF MY ROOM YOUR NOT MY DAD,,, AND WHEN THAIR MOTHER GETS HOME FROM WORK I GET IN SH.IT FOR NOT SENDING THEM TO SCHOOL.

Yes, but your wife has to stand behind you when you do these things. You have to be a team and it sounds like she is not helping you.

Also, again you are the adult. I dont care if they do say get out of my room - my dad used to come in my room and take the mattress of the bed with me on it and poor water on me if I didn’t listen to him. You bet your as* I went to school after that though.

I TRY TO BE A DAD TO THEM BUT THAY KEEP SAYING TO MY YOUR NOT MY DAD SO STOP TRYING TO BE..THAIR DAD WALK OUT ON THEM WHEN THAY WAS 4 THAY ARE NOW 14,16..I HAVE BIN WITH THEM THAT LONG, IT WAS OK TILL THAY GOT TO THE TEEN YEARS. SO NOW I JUST STAY OUT OF THAIR WAY BECAUSE IF I TRY TO MAKE THEM HAPPY THEN IT JUST BLOWS UP IN MY FACE..

That’s your problem - you are just trying to stay out the way and make them happy. Whether they call you Dad or not - you are their father figure and the male in the household and you need to talk with your wife about disciplining them. You are letting them walk all over you.

Why don’t they consider you their Dad???

m8s s a teen that age how long have you been in there lifes because they dont mean it in side but they might just be angery for not being with there dad just dont give up and if you want to try and get them to help ask and if they swear say dont talk to me like that or walk away its what my mum douse I was the same so just hang on and they finaly brack

Do ya’ll discipline them? Take their cellpones? Take away privledges? Not let them go out with their friends.

That behavior should not be accepted in a household. You are the adult - and they are the child, whether you are their biological dad or not, they are living in your household and there should be respect there.

You and your wife need to take action. You can’t let them walk all over like you that. Take their cellphone away, ground them, don’t let them leave the house for a week, etc. Do something. You have to show authority or else they are going to keep this up.

umm you need to sit down wih your girl and tell her that im the step dad or who ever and you have say in things now

… thats wrong for your girl not to say nun to them =( I have 4 kids and theyr 3, 2, 1, and 9 months old and if they were to ever disobey me then they would get it because no kid should be like that to an adult allwayzz maymay
