My parakeets nose turned brown! What the heck?

Can somebody please tell me what the deal is? I’ve been searching the web for a while and can’t figure it out. He’s about 3 years old and hasn’t been acting to strange lately other than sitting by his mirror a lot and talking to himself. Other than that he acts normal, and I’ve been feeding him like I always have. His nose is reddish-brown and kind of crusty.

Are you talking about an Australian budgie? If so, then it’s a she, not a he! Male budgies have a blue cere (fleshy patch above the beak where the nostrils are) when they reach adulthood, and females have a pink or brown cere at adulthood. Budgies reach adulthood at approx. 2-3 years, so it will explain why her cere only turned brown recently. So you can relax, your bird’s still going to be around for many years!!!
