my mom thinks I'm insane... HELP!

I have a lot of extreme phobias. one of them is people touching my stuff. today my mom just came in my room and started touching everything and going through everything and I was shaking uncontrolably and screaming at her and I was breathing in really fast (it was sort of like sobbing) and I couldn’t breathe at all and right when I thought I was going to pass out it stopped for a few seconds and then started right back up. it lasts until I think I’m going to die, and then stops and starts again as soon as I catch my breath. it only happened once before when I was at an iceskating rink with my friends, and they got me to go on the ice, (one of my many fears are iceskating rinks and ice on the ground and stuff) and I just couldn’t stop no matter how hard I tried. was it a panic attack? or what? please help I can’t live like this. I dont know what to do, my friends understand me, but my mom said I was faking and that I was insane and I want to be able to tlk ot her about this stuff, but she nvr takes the things I say seriously…

Answer #1

Honestly if this is true and not a joke then you should probably see someone…a psychologist maybe.

Answer #2

your mom is a jerk…Maybe. Why the heck would she think your faking it? I am terrified of Bunnies. I hate em. And blenders.

Answer #3

I’ve tried going to therapy… as soon as I start to feel comfertable telling this person things, my mom starts taking me to a different one x[

Answer #4

Is there a reason your mother keeps switching therapists? And either she thinks you’re faking or she thinks you’re insane… You can’t be both… Maybe a little logic would be helpful (you might want to point this out to her)

Answer #5

you just need 2 cunvince her that you rnt insane.

friend of the person who just said that (jewelz): maybe you should see a doctor or somethin

Answer #6

First of all you NOT insane! Myself I have many phobias; being in small spaces, heights, clowns, going under water, chop sticks, hospitals, green peppers, puke, and a few more. It got so bad that my mother wanted me hospitalized cause of my phobias. Just sit down with your mom and tell her the truth, if she don’t believe you tell your friend. If you have a phobia of everyday thing like people touching your stuff or you then I suggest that you see your doctor and tell them about your phobias, and what happens to you. They might want to put you on nerve pills but trust me when I say it is for the best.

Good luck,

I have panic attacks as well, and I know it sucks. I would suggest going to a therapist to settle you down. As for your mom I am really not sure…sorry.
