my friend has a phobia about stumps (half a body part) is there any way she can over come this?
Dont get me wrong, I'm not minimizing your feelings... I'm sure it feels overwhelming to you... When I said it doesnt take too many sessions to deal with, I just meant you're not going to be stuck in therapy for years... Phobias generally are dealt with in a very behaviorally oriented way... Generally exposure therapy tends to work best, and it is in a relatively short time... Now if there is some thing else behind this phobia that needs to be dealt with, well that could take some additional time, but it's a whole seperate other thing...
uhm ok ignoring the question of why would she want to (I mean I'm not a fan of them either), uhm yeah it would be dealt with like any other phobia... she'd need to see a counselor, but phobias dont usually take too many sessions to deal with...
no about them in general. it actually makes her sick when thinking about them.
um. what do you mean like her getting one or just in genral?
