My chihuahua does not want to eat. What do I do?

The BEST gauge of how your dog is doing (food wise)…is how he looks. Since you said he looks good…I’d say leave him alone…he’ll stay far healthier being the right weight, or slightly under…than he will fat.

my chihuahua is the same way!!! she only eats people food or the scraps. I do not know why. we buy her the best dog food. anyway try feeding scraps to your dog or something.

Try to give him Nutri-Cal. You can get it with your veterinary. It makes Chihuahuas stronger, when they do not eat.

Maybe your dog does not like the food.

Ok, this might sound a little funny. I have a VERY disobedient turttle. He only eats ONE type of food. We have 3 containers of food at my house in which he REFUSES to eat. But the bad situation in all this is that the food he likes does not sell anymore.

But you’r dog might also be constapated, or have issues. check this out with your local vetranarian!

Dose he produce waste??? He might be constipated, could have an infection. Consult your vet. Have you tried mixing some wet food in with dry? My dog was a pound puppy and WILL NOT eat unless I give him permission to do so. He is very timid and I think he was beaten before I got him. Something possibly like that?

first a dog will never starve itself unless there is a medical issue going on. They have very tiny bellies and should eat about 3 tiny meals a day. they do get upset tummies also. Call your vet to find out what you can give at home based on the dogs weight.
