My cat hasnt chewed the cord from her babies should I help?

Firstly I would like to say we took in this cat when her owners abandoned her cause she was pregnant and she will be spade asap. She has given birth to 4 kittens and they have all still got the cords and plancentas attached and she is showing no signs of chewing them at all. Also I did make her a nice box to have them in but she decided to have them in her litter tray which had pellets in so it is making it a bit more messy shouls I try to move her or cut the cords??

Answer #1

yep just cut the cord with some scissors my mum used to breed persians and this is what she used to do with any of the cats that didnt chew the cords

Answer #2

yes tie some dental floss about 1/2 inch above where it is attached to the belly ( it will later dry up and fall off on it’s own) and then cut above the dental floss, you should do this asap

Answer #3

Call an emergency vet clinic and find out…
