My boyfriends dog shat on his bed

My boyfriends dog is very nawty and shat on his bed and their dining room table

What can he do to train his dog so it wont do that?

He tried talking to it, its a minature pincher so he cant smack his thigh with a news paper

Answer #1

Like one person suggested, get those training pads. Those work perfectly. I know when I lived with my parents, they had to get those pads for one of our dogs. Soon as it understands, then it’ll want to go outside. Good luck with your boyfriend’s dog. I don’t know much about pinchers, so you might want to look that up. Do some researching if you like.

petsmart has great housebreaking classes, they cost money, but its worth it not to have to clean up messes forever!

This is purely a Dominance problem…he’s crapping where his “Master” sleeps and where he eats…that’s a message loud and clear!! “Master” is going to have to become just that…the “Leader of the Pack”…This little dog needs to start a NILIF program (Nothing in Life is Free)…He needs to be crated when he can’t be watched, and leashed to “daddy’s” side laying under the computer desk, by the table when your boyfriend eats nest to him when he watches TV…etc etc. It won’t take all that long for him to figure out that his “dad” controls ever piece and particle of his life.

When he gets fed, he has to sit and wait…when he gets a treat he has to sit, or down…and wait…everything “good” that comes into his life must be given by your boyfriend, and not unless he “works” for it (ie. the sitting the waiting)…

Remember…fair and consistant…no yelling, no swatting…no getting upset…Your boyfriend must be a “quiet force” in this dog’s life.

PS…Hey all you who has assumed this dog isn’t housetrained…please note…he crapped ON the dining room table!!! He crapped ON the bed!!…training pads won’t do diddley, it’s not housetraining he’s lacking…it’s “respect” for his leader…

and rubbing his nose in it…well, lets just say, that’s ridiculous…

I got these puppy training pads for my dog and they worked perfectly they stick onto the carpet and the dog can sh*t on that. after some time my dog began going outside and then never went inside. I guess I was lucky though !

Answer #6

I’m not sure ‘punishing’ works…I had two border collies…and I praised the good and ignored the bad…

find a treat your dog likes and give one to him when he’s ‘goes’ outside..they’re intelligent creatures and they will eventually get the idea…be patient…doggies are messier than kids (in my experiance anyway lol!)

Answer #7

Yeah it sounds like the dog is actually trying to send a message. they understand where the bed is for humans.

My cat used to chose to pee or poo on my bed if the kitty litter was dirty. Not sure if its the same situation. You may need to crate the dog until it is house trained.

Ohhh yeah and “talking”to the dog is actually worse because dogs don’t speak english. it sends the wrong message

or you can shove its face in it everytime it goes inside soon itl learn “oh im not supose to crap here” thats what I did
