Mortar on bathtub

How de we remove the mortar on the edge of our bathtub? We are remodeling and the tile on the edges was removed but the mortar underneath won’t come off so we can install new tile.

if you don’t have fein saw with the ceramic cutter attachment you will need a hammer and 1 inch chisle, first chisle downward all alone and then chisle inward by resting the chisle in the tub surface and start working, I myself am fairly good with the hammer and chisle and use a jack hammer method when I chisle mortar grout

You can use a razor blade to get the worst off. To get the rest, go to a hardware store, they sell propriatory acid products just for this.
