There's an outstanding book out called New Bach Flower Therapies, by Dietmar Kramer. I think it's on Amazon, and maybe the library. You should check it out. If you read the entry on Chicory I think you'd be astounded at some of the things that passage reveals about both you and your mother (because the author talks about how Chicory people tend to treat their children).

I know how you feel... really. I got so very annoyed when she made me meet the man of her choice. At that point I just said NO, I WILL NOT DO THAT. I told my mother at that time when I was still in college that i did not want to hurt her feeling, but she got to accept whatever I choose for my life. I just asked her to let me know or to warn my if at anytime I am endangering myself. But for husband or my kids name, she got to let it go. I did not want to bargain.
Who cares if she plans stuff? That's what parents do, they plan for your future. No one is saying you have to do what she says. You have to learn is how to pick your battles. Exactly who is it hurting if your mother is going on about your future. Smile and say, 'ok mum'. And then ignore her and do whatever you're doing.
tell your mum that you have decided who you are marrying tell her it's your gay best pal, worked for me...:)
