Why there are no men above thirty that are as active here as I am?

Doesn’t that looks, I hate to use this word, creepy? The two guys that founded Funadvice are my age and older, but they run the site so they have to be here. But me, I am not even an advisor. Am I in denial about my age? Sorry, I feel weird today.

Men in general aren’t commonly seen on advice sites. It’s a girl thing for some reason. Look at Phrannie, Colleen (@ichibarnarky), utopia, dhooni, etc…all “older” female users that are active on the site. However, there are others like you out there. Mike (@mikeh) hasn’t been on in awhile, but he’s in his thirties. @miscegenymiser is active and over thirty. you’re around, but just not as much. It’s the fact that you are a minority that makes you special though :)

And no, you aren’t in denial about your age. We need other “older” members to keep this site balanced. Otherwise, the “Am I preggerz” questions would take over in full force.

Answer #3

We actually used to have a lot more. Not sure what happened. But like Heaven said, women tend to dominate on advice sites like this. It kinda is the same reason women tend to dominate in fields like counseling, nursing, etc. It’s seen as women’s work to be nurturing, empathetic, taking care of others, listening to others. You’re not in denial over your age. For whatever reason you buck the trend, and apparently enjoy giving advice. It’s hardly a bad thing.

Lol, i think that anyone “really” over the age of 20 that arent lying are in the minority around here. This site has a tendancy to make my feel like im old and im only 24.

I’m around… not answering as much as I used too… honestly not finding any questions to answer since the new format. that aren’t in regards to points or the new format.. (or that Google can answer!) not sure if i agree with gender stereotype above but whateve’s… I know several male nurses and dad’s etc… men can be and are ever bit as empathetic and caring…
