A group of 12 boys has a mean age of 10.75 years. One of them, aged 13.5 leaves the group. What is the the mean age of the remaining group?
please show me how to work it out aswell not just the answer fanx
the answer is 10.5. if you 13.5-10.75 you get 2.75. If you divide the difference (2.75) by the remaining number of boys (11) you get 0.25 0.25 is what the mean will change by now the older boy has left. 10.75 - 0.25 is 10.5
umm.. 7 is it 7?
