How do you factorise equations? Maths help needed!?

Help please!!! I have no idea. First set of questions say; factorise the expressions, each has 4 as a common factor 4x +8 12-8x 4-16x 4x squared + 64

Helppp! Thanks. :)

Answer #1

basically you divide the common factor (4 in this case) out of each. so the first one would be:

4x+8 = 4(x+2). If you FOIL’d out 4(x+2) you would get 4x+8.

Hope that helps.
