Can we get married in Texas without a parent's consent?

Answer #1

In Texas a 16 or 17 year old can petition the court for permission to marry without parental consent. If the court determines that it is in the minor’s best interest to marry than it can allow the union.

Answer #2

marriage is a union between God and the two people it is a choice made in your heart not a sheet of paper how as the poster above said the court can grant permission for a state license.

Answer #3

Perhaps you can but you think you can live happily without your parents consent? Change is a constant thing and someday somehow you would be exhausted with your parents. 16 or 17 is a very early stage to get married. And when you found out each other’s differences, you’ll sort to divorce. Don’t rush up on things. take one step at a time. A simple reminder from http://funadvice.com/r/1630q50018h
