Me and my girlfriend have been dating for a month now and we want to get married. We are going to have a two year engagement and then get married. Is their a problem with this??
well if you dont have a problem with it then there is no problem. but, how much do you really know this person in a month? how does she handle money? does she work and able to support herself? how many children will you have if any? where will you both live? are you willing to make huge changes in your life for this person you have known for a month?
are you fine with the fact that you will only sleep with this one woman for the rest of your life? have you experienced enough of life to know that you are ready to settle down with one person until you are in your 80s+? can you handle all the arguments that will come? compremise?
if yes, then there is no problem.
What difference does it make to be in a relationship without engagement first and after 2 years of knowing each other...get engage. Just a different in time. Since you are planning to get marry 2 years down the road, why not engage only by then? Try to get to know each other in the mean time and have fun while time goes by. Enjoy each other companionship and takes time to nurture the relationship. :)
I have known people to be engaged a LOT longer than that. No there is nothing wrong with showing that level of commitment, but waiting to get married. I think that is a very smart way to go about it. Good Luck.
