Losing my best friend?

I have a friend of mine whom I’ve been really close with since I was 12. We went to the same middle school, and we ended up going to high schools that are right across the street from each other. Maybe it’s because we’re both growing up and changing, I feel like I’m losing her (maybe it’s because I became dependent on her…). We barely talk anymore, and whenever I ask her to meet up with me so we can hang out, she always ends up forgetting that I’m waiting (once she made me wait for 2 hours in the pouring rain, even though I was going along with her to visit her aunt’s grave!). I’m used to her being late for our meetings, but the last situation had me thinking that maybe it’s time to move on…she says that I’m still her best friend, but now that she has new friends, I can’t help but feel replaced…

True, life throws us a curve ball every once in a while and in this case, you may not understand why your friend is acting as she is. It could be any number of things. Maybe it IS because she has met new friends. You can’t really change her or her actions. You just have to realize that things like that happen and that we just have to learn how to deal with them and move on. I’m sure you will make new friends. Sometimes a friend comes along when you’re not even looking.

Yes, it happens, and happened to me too, we have to accept that our “best friend” does not care about us too much. It is sad, but belongs to the life, and that is better if we can split in time. Do not isolate yourself from other friends for her.
