I think it's the players who said they had a problem with the selection process and don't agree with it. I know Urlacher made a public statement that he felt it was unfair that certain guys (like himself) repeatedly are selected while others deserving, are never given the opportunity. He turned them down( I think it was last year) and I heard some other players did as well, feeling the same way.
That defintely goes without saying. Its up to the fans, and most fans dont watch enough football to judge fairly, and Fletcher isn't exactly a highlight reel. But Andy Lee over Sav Rocca does not sit well with me. Nor does most of the Oline picks.
If they are participating in the Superbowl maybe, but for a team like the Redskins long eliminated from the postseason, and for a player at his age, he really isnt playing for anything else. He was upset he missed it.
Part of it I bet is he has played often on many bad teams, so the votes are always gonna be slanted to players on good teams like the Steelers, Ravens or Patriots etc.
It was my understanding that most NFL players would rather take a pass on the Pro-Bowl then be in it. I could be wrong but that's what I had heard.
I didnt know that, thats good to know and hear.
