lions live together in a pride. the females hunt together, but if the male is around, he gets to eat first. there are usually several females to every male. sometimes there are two or three males to a pride if the males are brothers and have grown up together. if a male lion is overthrown by other males, the new males will kill off any cubs to encourage the females to mate with them. When male cubs reach a certain age, the pride will run them off to start or take over their own pride. lions live in Africa.
