Why are the letters on a keybord arrenged the way they are?

Answer #1

They were arranged in a manner to slow the typist down because if the typist typed too fast on a manual typewriter, the keys would jam. Therefore, he arranged some of the most used keys in the more difficult places to strike. Once everyone was used to it, they never changed the arrangement of the keys.
