How does taking laxatives make you bulimic?

Okay so i read online that instead of throwing up some bulimic girls decide to take laxatives, but calories are aborbed within an hour and a half of being consumed so i don’t exactly see how taking laxatives will have a negative effect on you? I DONT plan on doing this in case any gets that sot of impression

I’m gonna take a guess & say it’s getting the food out of you. Throwing it up or getting it out the other end.

Girls with eating disorders take laxatives to lose weight. They figure that as much weight as they can get out of them is worth it so they basically flush their systems out. I know a girl who did this when she had an eating disorder. It’s not good to take drugs to flush you out frequently.

Abusing any substance that causes your body to take in less of the nutrients you are consuming is considered bulimia.
