Why do so many of you laugh when someone gets injured?

oh and by the way…that woman didnt hurt herself :) she posted a video after just saying she bruised abit of her back and broke the table (:

I am guilty of laughing at these types of things. I am not sure why, it is just somewhat human nature I guess? I pretty much always laugh at people when they fall or something, but if it is someone in person, after I finish laughing, I usually go over to see if they are alright. If it is really serious, I usually don’t laugh, it’s just the little things that make me laugh because I know they are going to be okay, it might have hurt a bit but they will live.

For example, if someone got shot or stabbed, I wouldn’t laugh, I would be more like “OMG!!!” but if someone was walking and slipped on a banana peel, and feel on they;re bottom. I would laugh, because it’s not that serious.

i am one of those people that do that i guess it just happens and you can’t control it. its just that pain is funny :)

Some are funny…..but I’ve seen some that make my butt cheeks clench…knowing (or thinking), damn that had to hurt !!….I don’t think humans are an unsympathic species, but we do have a facination with wrecks (falls, cars, boats, etc)….

Because it’s ‘schadenfreude’. It’s human nature to take pleasure in other’s pain. Everyone does it but you’re not laughing when it’s you :P But, it depends on the injury, if it’s like slpping in ice, everyone is like ‘woaaah - owned!!’ and if it’s more serious then yeah, people will still laugh but not as many. I believe in kharma and if someone has done something wrong then I think they had it coming. :P

well i dont laugh when people are injured i laugh if they like trip and then fall on the couch or they like bang there elbow into the door.. but sumtimes i do that and my friends bust out laughing but if there injured i dont make fun of that because it can come back on ya.. karma

For me personally if someone I truly care about gets really hurt I laugh in a hysterical way, it’s not the whole “funny haha” sorta thing. Example my dad before he died had died and was revived I remember running off screaming crying and laughing all at the same time just cause I was in such a hysterical panic. I dont understand though why people laugh at others pain and find amusment in it.
