Is the Kony 2012 maker still your hero after his erratic behavior and arrest today?

He was arrested for “disorderly conduct”. He was drunk or high, vandalizing cars while nude and pleasuring himself…..search Jason Russell online

I don’t, he scammed so many gullible people. It’s funny how everyone just instantly jumped on the bandwagon lol

Maybe he thought he was invisible too… haha, just kiddding. The irony of the whole situation is Russell is now the one that is getting famous and arrested (or “detained”) after a much shorter and less heavily produced video.

I am posting this a bit late but oh well.

While the IC is not the most respectable organization, however they did something that other organizations failed to do. They got the younger generation to care. And while yes, their funding is off and kind of curious, to be fair while the general public was quick to hop on the bandwagon the majority of those who criticize the movement hoped on equally as fast and used facts that were not true (because they spewed them too quickly) to back themselves up.

And I say this as someone who is not a fan of IC.

So no, Jason was never my hero, but I did not feel the need to jump on the hate bandwagon and drive a man to insanity either.

Instead, I took the opportunity to inform my friends about the situation and what it currently is and encourage them to donate to a charity that they trust.

The amount of energy and time that people spend on hatred when they could turn that energy into something useful astounds me. Stop complaining about IC, because even they have said is isn’t THEIR movement, it is OURS. They do not CARE if we donate to them or another charity or do not spend any money at all. They ask for awareness. While they are far from perfect, I don’t like crossing my arms and digging in my heels with my nose in the air and rant about how much I hate a group of people. I might dislike a group, but I get off my chair and still DO something.

No matter what your feelings are about Kony2012 or IC, I encourage you all to take this movement as a chance to remind yourself to think about a cause you feel passionately about and do something about it instead of trying to tear down something that was well intentioned.
