Just stopped taking noriday when should my periods come back

I have been on noriday for one year and it stoopped my periods half way through. I decided to stop taking it a few days ago because Im sick of doing tests and I would rather have my period once a month. I have been taking this pill because my grandmother died of breast cancer at 54 and my mother has it. Should I have stopped taking it and when should my periods start back.

You should consult your doctor or gyno for advice. Typically with birth control pills you shouldn’t start and stop them without speaking with your health care provider first. The obvious reason is it disrupts your contraception but it also throws your body into confusing cycles of hormones.

From the online Noriday factsheet: The progesterone only pill can often cause menstrual irregularities, such as irregular bleeding or missed periods. These can be annoying, but tend to settle down after a while. If you have continued problems with irregular bleeding you should talk to your doctor. If you are worried that you could be pregnant because you have not had a period, you should ask your doctor or nurse for advice or do a pregnancy test. However, if you took all your pills correctly and you didn’t have an upset stomach or take any other medicines which might affect the POP (see end of factsheet), then it is unlikely you are pregnant.

As for when you’re period will return, every woman is different. I would wait one cycle and then contact your health care provider.
