Please help me answer these qquestions. I’m going to an interview for persoanl banker and need a little help. 1- why did you apply with our company? or what drawn you to our comapny?

why do you want to be a personal banker?

why should we hire you?

they tend to ask if you’ve ever been in any comflicts at your previous job, should I answer that? should I tell the truth and said I reported my last manager for sexual arrestment(true story)? or should I say no, since this might be a turn off? I have a year and a half teller experience and I have about 5 years in customer service and I am super friendly, patience. Also I just graduated from college with a major in English, minor in Communication. help!!!

Interviews are all about how political you can be. You need to put yourself in their shoes. If a woman came in a told you that she left her last job because she filed a suit then why would you invite drama into your work environment? Of course you would not lie about it but do not set yourself up to sound like a troublemaker.

As for the questions just tell them the truth. You can stretch the truth but do not lie.

You want to stand out from the other applicants. You have experience and that is the most important issue. You also should make it sound as if every job is personal in your life and that you need it and will be completely loyal to it once invited to join their community.

As for why they should hire you. Make yourself sound good but also mention a small flaw that you are currently working on or a flaw that is actually a good thing. Like sometimes I work too late and my family suffers or I neglect my personal life. Or you could say, if anything is messed up at the office my sleep pattern is messed up because I cannot fall asleep knowing there is a problem that I could be fixing right now.

I think you should try to think why do you want to be a banker… It should be because you enjoy working with people and helping others something that you truly feel… Then when they ask you about conflicts I wouldn’t speak of it unless it was brought up.

Answer #3

Try to consider the interviewers point of view. Think of the qualities that you possess that they would likely admire. Think of your negative qualities as well, and find ways to word them in a professional manner. Go practice in the mirror.

Answer #4

I don’t think we can or should help you with this. It should be your own answers, not someone elses.

re: the past job, if you do mention it, make sure to use the right term (I’m not sure that sexual arrestment is a charge).
