Why isn't my sims 3 working?

It told me i had to update… so i did. But for some reason it didnt work! I opened it and it says “Your the sims 3 base game is incompatible with the current sims 3 expansion pack. Please update your game via the game launcher.” But the launcher remains frozen? It worked fine until this stupid update…..

when you did the update it sent a virus… most games dont need to be updated… and if they do they update them selves so chances are its a virus i would go get your launcher looked at… hope this helps. and good luck

I’ve had the exact same thing happen to me twice before, it isn’t a virus, jsut a glitch. You either need to un-install then re-install your Sims 3 AND any expansion and/or stuff packs you have with it, OR you can install Ambitions and it will update and fix itself. I can promise you these are the only ways.

oh ok, thanks aquariangirl…. i think i might have to uninstall. Cos i do have ambitions… :D

make sure you save your progress… your saves are in your documenst folder so just drag them to your desk top and put them back upon reinstall

it gave me an option to keep them if i reinstalled. without having to move them! Anyway, thanks for your help :)
