Is torrent illegal? if yes, why there's many websites who's providing a torrent?
Simply put: they haven't been prosecuted yet. For example, the pirate bay, one of the largest torrent search engines, is being prosecuted by the Swedish government currently.
Aside from the legal vs illegal debate: is it right for you, who didn't produce a piece of content, software, music, or video, to obtain such content for free?
To me, that's simply not fair. It's legally up to the people who create something to decide what to charge for something, and it's unfair, to me, to rob them of that right. Also it happens to be illegal.
Technically no, torrent isn't illegal. However, some (not all by any stretch) of the content available via torrent is copyrighted, and shouldn't be shared - that's the illegal part. Unfortunately, the RIAA and MPAA have declared war on anything that they don't like, and they have the money to spend suing people who cannot afford to defent themselves, even if they're innocent.
