Are these good portion sizes for a diet?

I’m going on a diet, so I try not to eat a big portion, or unhealthy food. But whenever I bring my lunch to school, my friends always say that it isn’t enough.

The lunch I think is a good portion size for a diet is:

1 potato 1 1/2 cups of cooked broccoli, carrots and peppers 2 tofu dogs a pinch of rosemary for flavor

I think this is enough, but my friends keep saying, “no, you don’t eat anything!” I always cut this stuff up and mix them together, so I think that just makes it look like a smaller meal. But do you think it’s good enough?

one more thing… how tall are u and what do you weigh? key is always eat 3 meals like u are and 3 snacks. Smaller portions, more often keeps the metabolism up. I’m diabetic have no choice but love the diet! Incredible energy

okay, well I think that is a good meal, and I agree that maybe an apple added on to that would be great! good job at trying to loose weight the healthy way(unlike me :( ) but keep it up! ex. oh. J

Mmm… that actually sounds really tasty!

These guys are right, adding in a piece of fruit might boost it a bit. I’d be inclined to recommend an orange rather than an apple- oranges have an enzyme in them which helps to break down other oils, and they really do give you a little boost to get you though til dinner. I’d try mixing up your veges a bit from day to day though- add in some courgettes, eggplant, peas, sweetcorn etc, or swap the potato for some rice, or maybe a bit of pasta. It’s got a few more calories, but I love adding in a bit of avocado. Just remember it’s okay to have treats once in a while- if you deny them flat out, you only want them more, and you’re more likely to step off the diet.

OK, thank you!

I was hoping that I wasn’t anorexic, and thinking of everything as a huge meal!

Well, I don’t think it’s huge, but I’m still happy I’m not anorexic :D
