Is this cage too small for my guinea pig?

I just bought a new guinea pig and he is pretty big. I’m worried his cage is maybe too small for him :/ ok. so he is about 20cm long and quite chubby and hiis cage is 90cm by 60cm. Do you think I should get him a bigger cage. I am such a big animal lover so if it is too small don’t go getting all mad at me. I’m new to the whole guinea pig stuff.

Answer #1

Its better for him to have a cage thats too big then too small…

Answer #2

I have 2 guinea pigs about 20cm long in a cage 51ish cm by 78ish cm, and their healthy as can be. you may be feeding yours alittle too much, so try 1 cup of grain per day, an always full water bowl, etc. and some hay. my GPs were to fat, so thats what we did, and now their just fine. also you might want to take out any houses during the day to give him more room.

Answer #3

I would do what you think is best for him

Answer #4

I have 2 guinea pigs and we used to have a cage like that. people were saying they neede more room, so we got them a bigga cage. I think they need room 2 run, or they will keep getting hevier. I suggest you get I bigger cage. good luck wit the piggies!

Answer #5

mine stays in a 3 story bird cage with a hamster and hes just fine. just take yours out for some time of the day and let him run around a room where no other of your pets can get in and now way he can get out. :]] I let mine run around in my bathroom sometimes. lol :]]
